Modbus/Mbus to OPC/MQTT gateways for GSM networks

inVIEW i5x IIoT Gateways are a family of devices which serves as a connection point for standard industrial devices to OPC, OPC UA or MQTT protocols by using of mobile network (GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA). These devices uses standard industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU and M-bus at field devices layer, and converts it to OPC, OPC UA or MQTT for connection with supervisory systems having appropriate interface.

inVIEW i5x IIoT Gateways are used where most appropriate connection available is mobile network, such as hard to reach locations, or locations without communications infrastructure.

Even in the situations of communication links temporary failures, data obtained from connected devices are not lost thanks to local logging feature on all inVIEW IIoT gateways. All the data are logged with its timestamp to provide historical accuracy, so when the connection is established again, data are synchronized with the server and historians database.

For security reasons, all of inVIEW IIoT gateways communicate with OPC server through proprietary communication protocol – IPP (inVIEW Proprietary Protocol). For highest data security, 256-bits encryption is implemented. To optimize data traffic and to increase system responsivity, data compression techniques are implemented on data packages.

As being addressed as Smart, inVIEW IIoT Gateways are capable to noncomplex pre-processing the data on the gateway level. All of the inVIEW IIoT Gateways can be configured to initiate communication when value of any of the monitored variables from the field device is out of the given range, and not to wait to be polled by the supervisory system.

Redundant communication

In critical applications where real-time communication is essential, inVIEW IIoT Gateway i12 can be configured to use two separate communication links to server, enabling communication channels redundancy. When either of the communication links fails, other link takes over communication seamlessly without loss of any data obtained from connected devices.
